The fabric is quite thick, and this makes it warm to wear. I have worn it both as a traditional dhoti with one of the ends pleated, passed between the legs and secured in the back, and as a lungi (with the fabric doubled up). In both cases, the dhoti remained secure for long periods and fully preserved my modesty. The dhoti washed well and dried very quickly, with no discernable shrinkage.
